The Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia, located in Lynchburg, is a center of excellence for musculoskeletal care. The private practice consists of a dozen orthopedists, a rheumatologist, a physiatrist, a group of physical and occupational therapists and a total of about 125 employees. The practice is advanced in its use of technology having used Nextgen EMR/EPM for over six years. Associated technology used by the practice includes: Windows 2003 Active Directory, Windows 2003 Terminal Services, MS Exchange 2003 and PACS with CR/DR/MRI.
EMR System Administrator/ Template Developer
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Electronic Medical Records System Administrator will implement and support the NextGen Electronic Medical Record application. The EMR System Admin will define, develop, and analyze practice requirements, identify system limitations and develop solutions accordingly. The EMR System Administrator will train staff and physicians as necessary prior to implementing developed solutions and process changes. The EMR System Administrator will participate in standards and quality committees and contribute to the development and maintenance of data and system standards and best practices. The EMR System Administrator will assist Administration in the development of quality metrics via database queries/reports.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
A. Develop/Administer NextGen (SQL) Database
B. Develop EMR templates
C. Document system configuration for model EMR clinic and client custom requirements
D. Serve as Level 2 support for NextGen EMR/EPM/ICS related issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training: Required:
· BA or BS (or equivalent)
· Expert knowledge of NextGen suite of applications.
· Minimum of 2 years experience in SQL Development/Administration
PRIOR RELATED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
· Preference given to candidates with related industry certifications
· Preference given to candidates with HL7 interface, NextMD and KBM experience
· Proven ability to implement and support electronic medical record systems
· Proven ability to deliver superior end user support and training
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
