iKnowMed, a division of US Oncology, offers an Electronic Health Record (EMR) for oncology practices. The software supports clinical functions in ambulatory oncology environments including chemotherapy ordering and management and note creation. We have an opening for a Clinical Quality Assurance Engineer for white box and black box testing. The position involves providing clinical testing of the software features and functions.
This position is not only about white box and black box testing of an EMR solution. This is about inventing processes and techniques to ensure the quality of existing and new technologies. You'll help build a really high level QA team working with quality-minded engineers and designers. We are smart, funny, opinionated people working in a lively environment with challenging objectives. You are self-directed and like to work with people who challenge standard conventions. You regularly evaluate new tools and techniques and make recommendations to improve processes. You are a serious thinker, writer, speaker, and listener. You develop plans you can explain and justify, and you are able to provide diplomatic, critical feedback to others.
Ideally, you are well versed in software industry best practices and quality assurance techniques. You have a keen sense of appropriate quality levels to meet business objectives. In constant pursuit of efficiency, you often invent better ways to get things done. You balance deep analysis with quick reviews for things that deserve immediate attention. You're attentive to details, but selective about obsessions. You like being involved early in the product life cycle but you can easily adapt and jump in at any point.
The best candidates will have the following experience:
· Education in one of the following disciplines is desired: LVN, RN, Pharmacist, Admixture Technician, MD required. Clinical experience and within Oncology is highly desired.
· Strong understanding of QA principles and process,
· High level programming and scripting. (e.g. JavaScript, Java, Perl, Shell, Smalltalk, C),
· Automation (e.g. Load Runner, QTP),
· Database schema and complex SQL queries,
· Identify, isolate and document deviations, either independently, leveraging our defect tracking tool, or directly with QA/Development peers
