EHR/HIE Interface Engineer– Hands-on position responsible for assisting healthcare organizations with the implementation of interface, integration and interoperability solutions. Responsible for integration technologies and platforms, interface configuration in a multi system integration environment with, and custom integration development. The qualified candidates will be able to provide the following functions - integration programming, analysis, coding, design, development, configuration, implementation, testing, documentation, application programming and solution analysis, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Review and understand customer requirements and specifications.
- Translate functional specifications into technical requirements and designs.
- Enhance existing technologies when appropriate.
- Develop new Interfaces from provided HL7 interface specifications.
- Develop test plans for new interfaces.
- Ensure that interface specifications are documented.
- Ensure that documents and source code files are archived in version control system.
- Provide interface installation, support and training documentation.
- Meet project objectives in a timely basis
Qualifications:
- Strong programming skills with a basic understanding of project cycles, software development environments, and source control techniques
- Working knowledge ad experience with interface engine technology, HL7 (v2.3 and above) DICOM and HITSP standards
- Ability to identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and team-work skills.
- Strong project management background, clinical background, training skills and have experience supporting offices through go-live
- Strong communication skills, documentation skills and the ability to work both independently and with groups are requirements
- Technical product certification (or equivalent experience required) with EMR applications (Allscripts, eCW, Epic, Netxgen, etc.) and interface engine technology (ConnectR, Cloverleaf, BizTalk, e-Gate, etc.)
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
