Associate- Clinicals Specialty Development
The Associate is responsible for assisting with the research and documentation of changes to the athenaClinicals platform for
the purpose of servicing a new or existing specialty or subspecialty. The Associate will have shared responsibility for the
identification, assessment, design, implementation, and dissemination of changes to athenaClinicals, our web-native
electronic medical record application. The Associate will work closely with our client base and the Clinicals Platform
Product Manager and the Specialty Development Product Manager throughout this process to develop effective product and
service solutions. As a member of the Clinicals Product Management Team, based in Watertown, Massachusetts, this role reports
to the Clinicals Platform Product Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
• Work with the Specialty Development Product Manager to assess product needs, opportunities for improvement and risks to
adoption for specialists.
• Identify, research, and document functionality gaps between the existing product and needs for a new specialty/subspecialty
including care delivery, care reimbursement, care documentation and care optimization needs.
• Execute change, UI, and workflow designs, and work with stakeholders on change management requirements related to the
requested modifications.
• Work closely with the development team during the design, coding and QA processes to ensure project success.
• Provide content for training materials and release notes on new product or service related modifications.
• Other duties as assigned by the Clinicals Platform Product Manager.
Position Qualifications:
The Associate should be a strong, creative and analytical thinker who enjoys tackling complex problems. (S) He should have
some project management experience, including managing multiple, concurrent projects. Finally, (s) he must be excited by the
prospect of working in the fast-paced, often intense environment of this rapidly expanding product. These abilities include:
• Ability to execute project plan from design stage to implemented solution.
• Some knowledge of healthcare or software development ideal, but not required.
• Results-oriented approach to projects.
• Creativity in solutions creation.
• Ability to support members of the development team by providing a clear and consistent description of the problem and
objective.
• Ability to develop close working relationships with client-facing teams with the expectation of identifying new needs and
communicating solutions.
• Ability to analyze workflow inputs and outputs and suggest designs for efficient systems.
• Candidates with experience in workflow analysis, application design, healthcare practice management or healthcare
consulting, are encouraged to apply.
